It is the town's main church. It's not known exactly when it was built, but it certainly existed by the mid-fourteenth century. The building is adjacent to what were once the medieval village walls.
The façade has no entrance, and the church is accessed through a doorway on the left side.
The interior has two asymmetrical naves, a rather rare feature, and is very dark, as the church only has three small Gothic windows.
The bell tower is low and squat and placed right above the presbytery.
