Spring enological trip to Pietra de Giorgi and to Broni

New stage of a new series of trips aimed at combining the discovery of Italian villages and landscapes with wine tasting in the cellars that produce them.
This time we will return to Pietra de Giorgi (Pavia), where, in the first part of the trip, we will taste the production of the Ferrari Farm.
We will then make a small trek in the countryside around.
TASTING
The idea is to be there in the late morning, i.e. around 11.30. There will then be time to visit the cellar and its vineyards to learn about its history.
The vines grown on the company's land are Pinot Noir, Riesling, Croatina and of course Bonarda.

The tasting will take place at lunchtime and will coincide with the lunch. The wines will be tasted together with typical products of the area. The will be a first course and then platters of cold cuts.
The tasting will be held on a terrace with a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside!
Forfait price of the tasting with buffet of typical products: 25 Euros.
Immediately after lunch, before going to Broni, we will take a short walk to the sulphurous water source, just below the wine cellar.

VISIT TO BRONI
Broni is a town of almost 10,000 inhabitants in the province of Pavia. It is located at the foot of the hills, in the Oltrepò Pavese. It is full of monuments and things to see.
- Minor Basilica of St. Peter Apostle (Fig. 2): It is a church of very ancient origins, but modified and enlarged many times over the centuries. The interior is very rich in decorations and frescoes from various periods.

- Church of Santa Marta (Fig. 3): It has been the seat of the Confraternity of Santa Maria del Gonfalone for centuries. The late Baroque/neoclassical interior includes a single nave with two chapels on each side.
- Sanctuary of San Contardo (Fig. 4): Basically a simple chapel. By virtue of its raised position, from it it is possible to enjoy a suggestive panoramic view of Broni and the surrounding area.
- Palace Arienti (Fig. 5): Today the seat of the Municipality. Unfortunately it cannot be visited inside, except for special events.
A meeting will be at the Sondrio undergound station of the MM3 at 9.45 to split up on the cars.
