After the exhibitions dedicated to Mino Ceretti, Franco Zazzeri and Togo, the Museo della Permanente is organizing a solo exhibition by Attilio Forgioli, the fourth chapter of the Monographs cycle, centered on the Masters of the Permanente.
About eighty works are exhibited on display, including oil paintings on canvas, pastels and acrylics on paper. The works have been selected mainly from those created over the last few years, with several unpublished works exhibited for the first time in this exhibition.
Alongside the more recent works, there are also some works from the past, which allow us to retrace the thematic and stylistic evolution that has taken place over the years, ranging from the best-known and iconic series (Landscapes, Mountains, Residences, Fruits) to the latest cycles (Portraits, Reclining figures, For Van Gogh, Salò on the lake).
The Landscapes, the Mountains, the Residences and the Fruits are characterized by inextricable tangles of lines, by spots and filaments of color that always seem on the verge of dissolving: the brushstrokes graze, chase and get lost in a complex game of intertwining and overlays. The fragmented sign made of continuous detours and interruptions brings out from an indefinite backdrop lumps of color that thicken and multiply, as in a painting in progress not yet crystallized on the canvas.
