Nur englische Beschreibung:

The Torlonia Marbles. Collecting Masterpieces: 96 marbles from the Torlonia Collection, the most important private collection of classical statuary. The Milanese appointment is a great exhibition that inaugurates, after Rome, the exhibition program of the Collection at important international museums, presenting five new works. The exhibition, curated by Salvatore Settis and Carlo Gasparri, stems from an agreement between the Torlonia Foundation and the Ministry of Culture - with the Directorate General for Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape and the Special Superintendence of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Rome - authentic example of collaboration between public and private in the name of culture.

The exhibition itinerary unfolds in six sections which, back in time, analyze the history of antiquity collecting in Rome from the 15th to the 19th century, an aspect under which the story of the sculptures of the Torlonia Museum appears to be of exceptional importance. The genesis of the Collection is due to the Torlonia Family's passion for collecting antiques which finds its fulfillment in the Torlonia Foundation, established with the aim of preserving and promoting "the cultural heritage of the Family for humanity" to be handed down to future generations. .
