Second stage for 2024 of the trips aimed at combining the discovery of Italian villages and towns with wine tasting at the cellars that produce them.
This time we will go to Miradolo Terme (Pavia), where, in the first part of the trip, we will taste the production of Azienda Agricola Fratelli Guglielmini.
Subsequently we will go to discover the town.
TASTING
The idea is to be on site in the late morning, i.e. around 11.30am. There will then be time for a presentation of the winery and a visit to its vineyards to learn about its history and appreciate the panoramas and glimpses that the countryside there offers in quantity.
The grapes grown on the company's land are: Barbera, Croatina, Chardonnay, Uva Rara, Pinot Noir, Malvasia, Riesling, Cabernet Savignon, Merlot. Here are all the details: Our grapes
The tasting will take place at lunchtime and will coincide with it. The wines will be tasted together with typical products of the area, known not only for its wines but also for its excellent cured meats and fine cheeses, offered on platters for groups of 3/4 people.
This time it will be a picnic, because we will be sitting right in the middle of the vineyards!
In fact, the company will erect gazebos under which tables and chairs will be placed.
Fixed price of the tasting with buffet of typical products: 25 Euros.
For the hungriest it will be possible to order cuts at affordable prices.

VISIT OF THE CASTLE OF SAN COLOMBANO
After the tasting we will go to discover the Castle of San Colombano al Lambro, just a 10 minute drive from the cantin.
It is a very ancient castle, it certainly existed already in the tenth century, but its origins perhaps date back to the sixth century.
"The structure of the castle is still divided into two parts: the ricetto, or the area where civil life took place, and the fortess, the military part, located high up on the hillside (the latter is currently privately owned). In addition to the suggestive walk in the park that winds along the walls, inside the castle you can also visit some stately rooms, set up at the time of the Belgioioso, but still bearing traces of past eras."
To better appreciate the history and structure of the castle we will participate in a guided tour: starting at 4.00 pm, duration approx. 90 minutes, cost 5 Euros.
A meeting point will be at the Sondrio stop of the MM3 at 9.45am to divide up the cars.

Return to Milan for dinner or after dinner, depending on the inclinations of the participants!
