The Lake Monate is a lovely lake of spring origins, between Varese and Lake Maggiore. Of small Size and shallow depth (2.5 km 2 and 40 m approx., Respectively) it is one of the cleanest lakes in Northern Italy. It is completely suitable for bathing
and the reduced slope of the seabed at the shore makes entering the water not dangerous as in many other lakes, where you immediately lose the ground under your feet.
The Lake Monate is almost entirely surrounded by gardens, parks, meadows and managed beaches. It is populated by various species of waterfowl (including nesting), like mallards, coots, water moorhens, great crested grebes, swans. Sometimes it is visited by cormorants and black kites. In the late afternoon you can swim surrounded by those birds, which during the hottest hours tend to remain hidden in the cane thicket.
The beach where we usually go we (and referred to in the photo) is the Larici Club, in Cadrezzate, in Lago street 449. It includes a large lawn interspersed with tall trees (so as to have at all times the possibility to choose between sun and shade). It is equipped with all the facilities (bar, showers, changing rooms, sun beds, pedal boats, canoee, tables and BBQ grills). There are also table tennis, volleyball, soccer and basketball fields. Weekdays and Saturdays are also dogs are allowed.
For those who want ( please let us know in time ), meeting at the MM3 stop Sondrio, in order to be distributed on the machines and Bidding
a passage to those who have their own transport. Anyone who wants can of course also go directly or in any other zone.

Directions additional to find the beach: Once in the village of Cadrezzate (if coming from the south as shown in Google), you will come to a traffic light. Immediately after it turn right into the road leading to the lake. The Larch Club is the second beach, the one surrounded by a wooden palisade.
