The heads at the attachment of the dome, as well as the four medallions and the busts inside them, are not original, but date back to the 19th century restorations. And in fact one of the busts portrays a man in nineteenth-century and not Renaissance styles.
The frescos in the tondo also date back to the nineteenth century. During these restorations, all the walls were frescoed, in contrast to what was expressly requested by the Renaissance clients. For this reason these frescoes were eliminated, with the exception of those in the tondo, as historical testimony.
